It hasn’t been the start to the season that Klay Thompson envisioned for the Golden State Warriors, and the NBA 2K24 ratings adjustors have taken notice. In the latest roster update that went live a couple of days ago, the second Splash Brother saw his rating dip as much as almost anybody. Now an 83 overall, Thompson has fallen from his preseason 85 rating.

Klay Thompson hasn’t hit his stride yet in the 2023-2024 season. While his counterpart Stephen Curry has been so good that 2K had to bump his ratings a bit, Thompson has been on the downswing. He’s shooting 44% from the field, and hitting three-pointers at a startling 35.4% clip. That would easily be a career low and only the second time he’s been below 40% from range.
He’s also averaging the fewest points per game (16.1) since his rookie season, so he has not been the player he was expected to be. In the latest NBA 2K24 ratings update, the developers had no choice but to give him a nerf.
Klay Thompson wasn’t the only player to see a decrease. These other players have seen their ratings dip since the beginning of the game:

- LaMelo Ball -1
- Zach Lavine -2
- Kyrie Irving -1
- Chris Paul -3
- Kawhi Leonard -2
- Jimmy Butler -1
- Damian Lillard -1
It hasn’t been the start to the season that any of these players hoped for. With players like Charlotte Hornets center Mark Williams (+3), Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes (+3), and others receiving tremendous upgrades, it makes the struggling players look a little worse. Fortunately, Klay Thompson certainly has the pedigree to turn it around and get that 2K rating back up.
